Lahore High Court Set Hearing for Case on Moonis Elahi

A Lahore High Court hearing has been scheduled for Monday in a case concerning the freezing of Moonis Elahi’s assets and his declaration as an absconder. The court, under Chief Justice Aalia Neelum, formed a special bench comprising Justice Ali Zia Bajwa and Justice Tariq Nadeem to hear the petition.

Qaisra Elahi Filed Petition

The petition was filed by Qaisra Elahi on behalf of her son Moonis Elahi. The court had previously seen Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi recuse himself from hearing this case.

Petitioner’s Arguments

In her arguments, Qaisra Elahi contended that her son was residing abroad and the cases against him were baseless. She also claimed that a petition in the NAB court for freezing his properties had been rejected. The petitioner sought the court to overturn the decision on asset freezing and absconder declaration.
