Linda Perry Criticizes Billie Joe Armstrong for Ignoring Her Before Major Career Move

Linda Perry, the 61-year-old American singer-songwriter and musician, recently reminisced about her failed attempt to produce Green Day’s follow-up record to their 2004 album “American Idiot.” She revealed that frontman Billie Joe Armstrong ceased all communication without explanation after she agreed to take on the project.

Perry shared that despite having a full calendar, she canceled six months of work to complete the project. During three-hour talks with Armstrong, Perry noted that the musician had reached a point where he felt like he had nothing left to say and needed help – a therapy aspect to producing music was evident.

After achieving success as the frontwoman for ’90s rock band 4 Non Blondes, Perry wrote hit tracks for artists such as Pink and Christina Aguilera. However, her plans to produce an album with Green Day were sabotaged by Courtney Love, which led to negative backlash from fans.

Ultimately, Perry lost six months of scheduled work when Armstrong stopped responding to her calls, leaving the singer frustrated over what she perceived as Billie Joe’s lack of communication and support.
