Malala condemns Iran strikes, calls for civilian protection

Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate from Pakistan, has condemned recent US and Israeli strikes on Iran with particular emphasis on reports that a girls’ school was hit. In a statement, she expressed deep concern over the violence targeting civilians, urging all parties to uphold international law in an effort to ensure justice for those affected.

The attacks have plunged the Middle East into renewed military confrontation after Iran retaliated against US and Israeli strikes initiated earlier this week. Yousafzai’s condemnation echoes the suffering of Iranian civilians, especially children who are often caught in such conflicts. She called on all involved parties to uphold international law and ensure that violence does not escalate further.

In response to the US and Israel’s operations, Iran launched a significant missile attack against Israeli territory. This retaliatory strike included a barrage of ballistic missiles and drones, triggering air raid sirens across multiple cities, including Hafizah in northern Israel. The capital city, Tel Aviv, also experienced explosions as Iranian forces targeted key locations.

Iranian military officials have confirmed that numerous missiles and drones were launched during the operation. The scale of this retaliation has heightened tensions between Iran and the West, reigniting concerns about a potential return to full-scale conflict over Tehran’s longstanding nuclear dispute with Western nations.

Malala Yousafzai’s remarks underscore the humanitarian impact of such military actions and her strong belief in upholding international law as a means to protect civilians from harm. Her call for justice stands in stark contrast to the indiscriminate violence that has claimed lives and disrupted daily life across the region.
