Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazir Tarar stated that petrol quota for federal ministers has been significantly reduced as part of the government’s austerity campaign. In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said that the monthly quota of ministers has been reduced from 400 litres to 200 litres.
The reduction in privileges and facilities is part of the government’s efforts to reduce expenditure and promote financial discipline. Tarar emphasized that there is no room for additional incentives for federal ministers. He also mentioned that if anyone has an objection, further discussions can be held.
The Federal Law Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to better utilisation of national resources and elimination of unnecessary expenses. Reducing government expenditure will not only reduce the burden on the national exchequer but will also help in establishing financial discipline, he added.
