MQM-P Demands Full Powers For Rangers In Karachi To Tackle Street Crimes

Amidst rising street crimes in Karachi, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) appeals to the federal government to intervene and address the worsening law and order situation in Sindh. MQM-P leaders Khawaja Izharul Hassan and Faisal Sabzwari underscore the urgency of granting full powers to the Rangers to combat rampant criminal activities.

During a press conference in Karachi, Hassan criticizes the Chief Minister of Sindh for what he perceives as a lax approach towards law enforcement, pointing to recent incidents that suggest a surge in criminal activity following the appointment of a new Inspector General of Sindh.

Sabzwari echoes Hassan’s concerns, lamenting the loss of civilian lives during dacoities, especially during Ramadan. He emphasizes the need for federal ministers to engage with the issue and collaborate with the provincial government to implement effective security measures, including the establishment of a Neighborwatch system to empower communities in combating crime.

Additionally, Sabzwari calls for vigilance from the Sindh Interior Minister and urges concrete steps to address the market of stolen goods, which allegedly operates with the tacit support of certain elements within law enforcement agencies.
