Senior journalist Nadeem Malik has strongly criticized the 10-year imprisonment handed down to Prime Minister Imran Khan and former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, labeling it as a ‘political sentence‘.
He asserted that the verdict delivered by the special court, sentencing both Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi to 10 years, was unjust.
Malik remarked that the decision in the cipher case seemed predetermined. He remarked, “It may take PTI leaders up to two years to approach the Supreme Court, and even then, there’s a chance the apex court may suspend the verdict.”
He likened the situation to the events surrounding Nawaz Sharif in 2017 and 2018, suggesting a pattern of unfair treatment by the judicial system.
