National Fiberisation Policy to Bridge Digital Gap, Boost Internet Speed: IT Minister

The Ministry of IT has initiated work on the National Fiberisation Policy, aiming to ensure widespread access to high-speed internet across Pakistan, particularly bridging the digital gap between rural and urban areas.

According to documents revealed on Friday, the policy emphasizes local investment and prioritizes Pakistani companies for the deployment of optical fiber and related infrastructure. The initiative is aligned with the country’s future digital and 5G requirements.

“The National Fiberisation Policy will enable broadband coverage and play a vital role in Pakistan’s digital transformation,” the IT ministry stated.
