Nazish Jahangir recently disclosed a harrowing experience from her past when an online taxi driver attempted to kidnap her in Karachi. During a talk show appearance, the actress detailed the frightening incident, shedding light on the safety risks associated with online transportation services.
The ‘Berukhi’ actress recounted that the alarming encounter took place in 2018 when she booked an online taxi. According to her Facebook post, the driver displayed aggressive behavior even before the journey commenced, making inappropriate remarks. Disturbed by his tone, she responded, leading to a verbal altercation.
As the situation escalated, Nazish asked the driver to stop the car near Sea View. To her shock, the driver locked the doors and menacingly declared his intention to take her to his brother while refusing to halt the vehicle. Fearing for her safety, Nazish Jahangir resorted to pulling down the car’s mirror and screaming for help.
Her cries attracted the attention of a friend who happened to live nearby. The friend attempted to intervene, but the driver managed to evade him by driving to a nearby shopping area and disappearing for three hours. Nazish immediately contacted the authorities, and the police arrived at the scene.
The incident has once again raised concerns about the security measures employed by online taxi services. Nazish Jahangir emphasized the need for stringent screening processes and called for greater accountability to ensure the safety of passengers. This revelation serves as a reminder of the potential risks associated with ride-hailing services and the importance of prioritizing user safety in the industry.
