The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a crucial weather advisory, predicting moderate to heavy rainfall, isolated thunderstorms, and heavy snowfall across various parts of Pakistan over the next 48 hours.

A western disturbance, having moved away from Balochistan and Sindh provinces, has set the stage for inclement weather conditions.

In the next 12 to 24 hours, the northern regions of Pakistan, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Upper Punjab, and Central Punjab, are expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, snowfall, isolated thunderstorms, and hailstorms. Another spell of rain is forecasted from March 5th to March 7th, affecting Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and upper Punjab. Some areas in southern Punjab may also receive rainfall, while there’s a possibility of precipitation in northwestern Sindh.

Municipal administrations have been directed to ensure better solid waste management services to prevent urban flooding, while relevant departments are urged to coordinate with national agencies for road restoration and landslide response. Travellers to hilly terrains are advised to take precautions, and the public is encouraged to stay informed about the latest weather updates.
