K-pop fans rejoiced as Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, the creators behind the record-breaking animated series “KPop Demon Hunters,” revealed plans for a new installment. Speaking at Tudum, they expressed excitement about expanding their Korean universe with fresh adventures.

“I feel immense pride as a filmmaker that our audience is eager to see more of this captivating story,” Maggie said in an interview on Thursday. “Our characters and world have become like family to us; we’re thrilled to write their next chapter together.”

Chris emphasized, “These characters are integral parts of our heart’s content. I can’t wait to explore further with them, challenge them, and witness the evolution that follows.” The duo did not disclose a release date for the upcoming series but hinted at it being imminent.

Earlier this year, in an interview with BBC News, Maggie had hinted towards more stories to come: “There’s definitely much we can do to build on these characters and worlds. Whatever our next tale may be, I’m excited about bringing them to life.”

For those who are still unfamiliar, the original series has already amassed over 500 million views since its June 2025 debut on Netflix.

Fans eagerly await what new adventures await in this world and with these beloved characters as the creators prepare for the next installment.
