North Korea Opens Memorial Museum for Russia-Ukraine War Troops Killed

North Korea has inaugurated a memorial museum dedicated to its soldiers killed in combat alongside Russian forces against Ukraine. The event took place on Sunday, marking one year since the liberation of the Kursk region.

At the ceremony, Kim Jong Un attended and participated in laying flowers over the remains of fallen soldiers. He also threw dirt over their graves before leaving messages with visiting Russian officials Vyacheslav Volodin and Andrei Beloussov.

Kim emphasized that the spirits of these soldiers symbolize “the Korean people’s heroism” and support a victorious path for both nations against what he termed as an American-led Western plot.

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his belief in the strengthening of comprehensive strategic partnership between North Korea and Russia, which could extend until 2031. He also highlighted that the museum would serve as a symbol of friendship and solidarity between the two countries.

The initiative comes amid growing concerns from South Korea, US, and their allies about potential technology transfers to North Korea that may bolster its nuclear capabilities.
