The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has announced a notable cut in the prices of imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) for May 2025, offering relief to consumers of both Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).

As per Ogra’s latest notification, effective May 1, the price for SSGC has been lowered by 13.64%, translating to a reduction of $1.71 per MMBTU. The new rate stands at $10.81 per MMBTU, down from April’s $12.59.

SNGPL consumers will also benefit from a price cut of $1.68 per MMBTU, bringing the rate to $11.59 per MMBTU for May, compared to $13.47 in April.

This downward revision in LNG prices comes as a welcome development for households and industries facing high energy costs, and reflects changing trends in the global energy market.
