Omar Ayub Resigns as PTI Secretary General

Omar Ayub has resigned from his position as Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to focus on his role as Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of Pakistan.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Omar Ayub expressed gratitude to PM Imran Khan for accepting his resignation, which he tendered on June 22, 2024. He addressed his resignation letter to PM Imran Khan and PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.

“Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Senator Shibli Faraz, conveyed my message to PM Imran Khan during their meeting in Adiala Jail today,” Ayub stated in his post.

He also mentioned that further changes in the organizational structure of PTI are expected in the coming days, as directed by PM Imran Khan.

Ayub thanked the PTI family, Parliamentarians, and Tanzeem Office Holders for their hard work and resilience in supporting PM Imran Khan and PTI.
