ISLAMABAD: One woman and 121 others were wounded when Iran launched a large-scale missile attack on Israel, according to reports from the Israeli ambulance service, citing Al Jazeera.
The Israeli military claimed that despite most of the missiles and drones being intercepted or destroyed by its defenses, some managed to breach protective barriers and hit areas in Tel Aviv and Beit Shemesh, which is located west of Jerusalem.
Debris from this assault also fell in occupied West Bank territory, specifically near Qalqilya, a northern city. The exact nature of the debris remains unclear—whether it was part of a rocket or an intercepted missile—but it landed closer to Palestinian areas and away from illegal settlements.
Israel’s security systems are designed to protect its citizens, including those living in unauthorized settlements within occupied West Bank territories. However, these defenses do not extend to offering any protection to Palestinians. The missile may have been deflected by Israel’s defense mechanisms, leading it to impact areas of the West Bank, where a Palestinian was injured earlier on Saturday morning in Beit Sahour, a town in southern West Bank.
This incident highlights ongoing tensions and the complex situation between Israel and its neighbors, including those in occupied territories.
