Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was informed on Sunday by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi about significant outcomes from two high-level multilateral meetings held in Europe.

Naqvi highlighted that he had attended a four-nation interior ministers’ gathering in Rome, Italy, alongside officials from Pakistan, Italy, Spain, and Greece. He also briefed the premier on a separate six-country meeting held in Poland, with representatives from Pakistan, Poland, Latvia, Finland, Estonia, and Lithuania participating.

Both meetings concluded with an agreement to expedite legal work permit issuance for Pakistani nationals across European countries. Naqvi emphasized that member states praised Pakistan’s efforts in reducing illegal immigration by 47% within a year and combating human smuggling.

Additionally, the interior minister announced that Poland and Italy would soon eliminate visa requirements for holders of Pakistani diplomatic and official passports. He also indicated that an initiative to bolster Pakistan’s immigration and border security capacity will be presented to the European Union at the earliest possible moment.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed his gratitude to Naqvi for his efforts, noting that discussions on the country’s internal situation and overall security landscape were part of their conversation.
