Pakistan intensifies airspace surveillance amid Iran strikes

Following Israel-US strikes on Iran this weekend, Pakistan has directed its Air Traffic Control (ATC) to intensify surveillance over national airspace. Sources indicate that Pakistani airlines are advised to avoid Iranian air routes. The ATC is also instructed to monitor closely the territories of both Iran and Afghanistan.

Reports from Tehran suggest multiple explosions occurred in the University Street and Jomhouri area, as well as near the Iranian presidential palace and Ayatollah Khamenei’s compound. Seven Israeli missiles reportedly hit these locations, causing significant damage. Smoke plumes were visible rising over various parts of Tehran and its outskirts.

Sources within Pakistan’s aviation sector confirm that air traffic controllers have been advised to be on heightened alert for any unusual activities or potential threats in the airspace of Iran and Afghanistan following this weekend’s strikes. These measures aim to ensure the safety and security of Pakistan’s commercial flights while maintaining vigilance over the volatile region.
