‘Pakistan Night’ at GITEX Global 2024 Showcases Pakistan’s IT Potential

A special networking event, “Pakistan Night,” was hosted by the Pakistan Association Dubai as part of GITEX Global 2024, attracting hundreds of tech professionals and business leaders from diverse backgrounds. The event provided a vibrant platform for collaboration, sparking new connections and the exchange of innovative ideas.

The occasion was honored by the presence of H.H. Sheikh Mana Bin Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum as the Chief Guest, alongside notable Emirati dignitaries such as Ghanim Al Falasi, Senior VP of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Dubai Silicon Oasis. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, extended his gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the opportunity presented through GITEX, acknowledging its pivotal role in promoting Pakistan’s tech sector.

“With events like these, we can significantly boost our IT exports and highlight Pakistan’s technological capabilities on the global stage,” the Ambassador said, emphasizing the importance of leveraging international platforms to expand the country’s presence in the tech industry. On behalf of the Government of Pakistan, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Minister of State for IT & Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Ambassador Tirmizi thanked GITEX Global for naming Pakistan as the “Tech-Destination 2024.”

The Ambassador also spotlighted the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Pakistan Software Houses Association (PASHA), and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in advancing the IT industry in Pakistan.

Ali Zeb Khan, Trade and Investment Counsellor in Dubai, welcomed IT delegates from nations such as the USA, Egypt, Iran, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Tanzania, Korea, and the UAE, encouraging productive business matchmaking and interaction with Pakistani companies. He urged attendees to explore Pakistan’s Pavilion at the Dubai World Trade Centre, where 24 Pakistani exhibitors are showcasing cutting-edge tech innovations.

Mr. Zeb underscored the vast potential of Pakistan’s IT sector and stressed the value of networking events like Pakistan Night in fostering trade and investment. He called for greater collaboration between international tech experts and Pakistani businesses to drive innovation and growth in the global market.

Representatives from PSEB and PASHA hailed the success of the event, believing it would pave the way for enhanced B2B collaborations and deliver tangible results for Pakistan’s growing tech industry.
