Pakistan Rejects Israel’s Bid to Claim West Bank Land

The Government of Pakistan has issued a strong condemnation of the latest attempt by the Israeli occupying power to convert areas of the Occupied West Bank into so-called state property and to expand illegal settlement activities. These actions are in clear violation of international law, including relevant United Nations Security Council and General Assembly resolutions, and must be rejected by the international community.

Pakistan’s stance echoes warnings from global leaders that such steps undermine the prospects for a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region. The country calls on the international community to take concrete measures to end Israeli impunity and ensure respect for international law.

“Pakistan reiterates its unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination,” said a statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry. “We reaffirm our commitment to an independent, viable, and contiguous State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.”

Pakistan’s government has been vocal in this matter, often highlighting the human rights violations and injustices perpetuated by Israeli settlements. The country continues to urge international actors to uphold their responsibilities under international law.

The latest move reflects a persistent pattern of settlement expansion in disputed territories, an issue that remains unresolved despite ongoing negotiations aimed at ending decades-long conflicts. International observers have noted that such actions not only escalate tensions but also hinder progress towards lasting peace.

Pakistan’s strong condemnation underscores the gravity of these developments and its continued commitment to supporting Palestinian sovereignty and rights. As February 16th marks this year, it serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for justice and the need for robust international action in support of peaceful resolutions to disputes.
