Pakistan-Russia Ties in Focus Amid Regional Tensions, Dar Meets Lavrov

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Friday. The discussion centered around bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation, reaffirming commitment to international peace and security.

Lavrov acknowledged Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the US, particularly regarding ceasefire efforts. Both sides also discussed rescheduling Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s planned visit to Russia and agreed on maintaining close contact.

Earlier, Dar held a separate conversation with Abbas Araghchi, discussing regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic efforts. Araghchi appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in regional diplomacy and maintained that military and diplomatic efforts are interconnected fronts.
