Bulawayo, 1 February 2026: Pakistan U19 are poised to face India in their final Super Six fixture of the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup. The match will take place at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Sunday, 1 February with the first ball scheduled to be bowled at 9.30am local time.
Pakistan currently sit third in Group 2 of the Super Six stage with four points and need to defeat India by a significant margin to secure their passage into the semi-finals. England, who top the group table with six points, are currently playing New Zealand in Bulawayo.
After arriving in Bulawayo from Harare on Wednesday afternoon, Pakistan took a day off before participating in a scenario-based practice game at the Bulawayo Athletic Club on Friday. The players were assigned specific targets by the coaching staff led by head coach Shahid Anwar. On Saturday, they will take part in another training session there.
Usman Khan, who has scored 122 runs from four matches so far during this mega event, including a half-century, commented: “Our preparations have been very good. The scenario-based match we played on Friday closely reflected actual match conditions and was of high quality.
“In scenario-based matches, batters are given specific targets to score as many runs as possible, while similar objectives are set for everyone, which helps us prepare better. Our fielding unit has also been impressive.
“Before the tournament, we held several camps in Multan where a strong focus was placed on fielding. We had productive sessions and as a result, the team has improved significantly in this department.
“Our next match is against India, which is very important as there’s a semi-final at stake. We have clear plans for every match and put in considerable effort accordingly. We will aim to perform well in the upcoming game to qualify for the next stage.”
