Pakistan U19 vs New Zealand U19 to Get Wild Starts ICC U19 World Cup Action in Harare

Pakistan U19 will take on New Zealand U19 in their opening Super Six stage fixture of the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup at the Harare Sports Club on Tuesday, 27 January. The first ball of the match is scheduled to be bowled at 9:30 AM local time, with the toss planned for 9 AM.

Pakistan will face India in their second Super Six stage fixture at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Sunday, 1 February. This contest will also be broadcast live on PTV Sports and Geo Super in Pakistan, while live streaming is available through Myco, Tamasha, ARY ZAP, and Tapmad.

Farhan Yousaf-led Pakistan U19 team has been holding a training session at the Takashinga Sports Club in Harare, participating in fielding drills and net sessions under the supervision of the coaching staff led by head coach Shahid Anwar. The side’s captain Farhan Yousaf recently stated that their preparations have been encouraging, noting valuable match exposure through scenario-based practice matches. He emphasized the importance of each upcoming contest, particularly the one against New Zealand.

The Pakistan U19 squad comprises 15 players including captain Farhan Yousaf and vice-captain Usman Khan, along with players such as Abdul Subhan, Ahmed Hussain, Ali Hasan Baloch, Ali Raza, Daniyal Ali Khan, Hamza Zahoor (wicketkeeper), Huzaifa Ahsan, Momin Qamar, Mohammad Sayyam, Mohammad Shayan (wicketkeeper), Niqab Shafiq, Sameer Minhas, and Umar Zaib.

Additionally, non-traveling reserves include Abdul Qadir, Farhanullah, Hassan Khan, Ibtisam Azhar, and Mohammad Huzaifa.

Support staff for the Pakistan U19 team includes Sarfaraz Ahmed (manager/mentor), Shahid Anwar (head coach/batting coach), Rao Iftikhar (bowling coach), Mansoor Amjad (fielding coach), Abrar Ahmed (trainer), Syed Nazir Ahmed (media manager), Dr Ali Aun (doctor), Ubaidullah (physio), and Ali Hamza (analyst).

In the context of previous fixtures, Pakistan U19 has faced England in a match they won by 37 runs at Takashinga Sports Club on 16 January. On 19 January, they defeated Scotland by six wickets there. They also beat Zimbabwe by eight wickets on 22 January at Takashinga Sports Club.

Pakistan’s two upcoming Super Six stage fixtures are against New Zealand and India respectively. The match against New Zealand is scheduled for Tuesday, 27 January at the Harare Sports Club, while their second fixture in this round will be against India at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Sunday, 1 February.
