Pakistan opted to bat first after winning the toss against Australia on Saturday as both teams continued their T20I series at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

Following their victory in the opening match, Pakistan secured their first T20I win over Australia in nearly seven years. Saim Ayub showcased exceptional all-round performances with two wickets and a powerful 40-run knock. The three-match series will conclude on February 1st at the same venue.

Australian captain Mitchell Marsh praised Pakistan’s performance, noting his team was looking forward to facing them during home preparation for the T20 World Cup. Agha, who addressed a press conference in Lahore, highlighted the importance of the series as one that would fulfill all requirements. Efforts were made to replicate pitches similar to those expected in Sri Lanka.

The Green Shirts previously played against Australia in a three-match Test and ODI series in March-April 2022. They won a close T20I match at Gaddafi Stadium before Australia also participated in three of their 2025 Champions Trophy matches held in Pakistan.
