Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir noted that Pakistan’s armed forces were undergoing “major transformation in multiple domains,” according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release from Thursday.
The CDF made these remarks during a visit to troops at Khairpur Tamewali in Punjab’s Bahawalpur, where he witnessed the high-intensity field exercise titled “Steadfast Resolve.”
According to the ISPR, COAS Munir highlighted that Pakistan’s Armed Forces were undergoing significant changes across various fronts. He observed: “Character of war has evolved massively due to technological advancements, necessitating a fundamental mental transformation at all levels.”
He added, “In the future, technological manoeuvres will replace physical ones and dramatically alter offensive and defensive operations.” Munir emphasized that the armed forces were quickly embracing and integrating technology through innovation, indigenisation, and adaptation.
The ISPR also noted that during his visit to Bahawalpur Garrison, Munir was briefed on operational, training, and administrative aspects of the Corps. He paid special attention to preparations for multi-domain warfare.
During the visit, Munir laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument to honor those who had sacrificed their lives in service, reaffirming that the armed forces were fully prepared to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty against any threat. The CDF also inaugurated the ROHI eSkills Learning Hub (STP), focusing on digital skills and learning opportunities for students from southern Punjab and across the country.
Munir further visited the EME Regional Workshop where he was briefed about maintaining modern platforms through advanced technologies, indigenization, and combat support measures.
