A crucial decision on Pakistan’s participation in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is set to be announced today by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Multiple options are currently under consideration, including the possibility of boycotting solely the match against India rather than withdrawing from the entire tournament.
Another proposal being discussed involves Pakistani players wearing black armbands during the match as a form of protest. After thorough review and consultation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to make an official decision today. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also decided to seek guidance from Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar regarding whether the national team should participate in the tournament.
Earlier, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated that consultations are ongoing and that a public announcement will be made once a decision is finalized.
