Pattie Boyd Slams Beatles Biopic Team Over Lack of Contact

Pattie Boyd has revealed that no one from the upcoming The Beatles biopic series contacted her despite featuring a character based on her life. The four-part project directed by Sam Mendes is set for release in 2028 and will tell the story of the Beatles from each band member’s perspective.

Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr are among the cast. Actors Aimee Lou Wood, Saoirse Ronan, and Anna Sawai have also joined, portraying Boyd, Linda McCartney, and Yoko Ono.

Boyd, who married George Harrison in 1966 after meeting him during filming for A Hard Day’s Night, expressed surprise that no one from the production reached out to her personally. She lamented not being informed about someone being cast to play her character.

She added she could have shared many personal stories from that period of music history but believed filmmakers may not be interested in hearing directly from those who experienced it firsthand. “I think they want to create something completely different, like a different story.”

Meanwhile, Giles Martin, son of legendary Beatles producer George Martin, praised the scripts and actors involved in the films. He stated he’s working with the actors and they’re doing a really good job. The scripts are also brave as opposed to being anodyne.

Fans previously got an early glimpse of the cast in costume earlier this year, which left many praising Mescal’s resemblance to McCartney.
