Plastic Surgeon Shares Game-Changing Skincare Routine to Look Up to 5 Years Younger Without Surgery

A plastic surgeon has shared his skincare routine on TikTok, claiming it can make someone look almost 5 years younger without undergoing any invasive procedures. According to Dr. Matthew Nykiel, known as @socialplasticsurgeon, incorporating certain products into one’s skincare regimen can help rejuvenate the skin and restore its youthful appearance.

Dr. Nykiel recommended a gentle facial cleanser with no perfumes or dyes as the first step. Next is a pH-balanced toner that regulates the skin’s pH level. He also suggested using glycolic acid, retinoic acid, and hydroquinone, emphasizing that “a pea-sized amount” is sufficient for prescription-grade products.

Dr. Nykiel advised applying a hydrating lotion without dyes or perfumes after these treatments to rehydrate the skin before finishing with a sunscreen to protect against UV damage. He stated, “This routine can remove three to five years from your appearance.”

In response to users seeking product recommendations, Dr. Nykiel suggested consulting professionals such as medspas, plastic surgeons, or dermatologists for expert skincare lines like Obagi or Image. When asked about the use of glycolic acid and retinol together, he clarified that they should be used under medical supervision. He recommended starting with two to three times a week for retinol and applying glycolic acid in the morning while using Retin-A at night.

One user expressed concern about hydroquinone, which is banned in many countries unless prescribed. Dr. Nykiel advised against its use without proper prescription due to potential risks such as skin cancer. He reiterated that all these products should be used only under medical supervision and prescription.

Overall, Dr. Nykiel emphasized the importance of updating one’s skincare routine and consulting with a medical professional before introducing new products.
