However, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is being considered for the role.

The ECNEC committee has eight members in total. Jam Khan Shoro represents Sindh, Adviser to Chief Minister Muzammil Aslam represents Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan Finance Minister Shoaib Nosherwani represents Balochistan as the provincial members.

This committee, which is crucial for economic decision-making, includes four members from the central government and one member from each of the four provinces.

The council has the power to approve construction projects worth 10 billion rupees or more. It’s believed that significant development projects related to communications will be overseen by the National Economic Council.
