PM Shehbaz Commends 80-Year US-Pakistan Bond, Trump’s Regional Peace Efforts

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that Pakistan and the US share an eight-decade-long relationship. He made these remarks during a ceremony marking the 250th anniversary of United States Independence, held in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister praised the cooperation between the two nations across various sectors including counter-terrorism, trade, and investment. Notably, he mentioned that the U.S. was among the first countries to recognize Pakistan post-independence.

Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted thousands of Pakistani graduates from US universities who are contributing significantly to Pakistan’s economy. He added that Pakistan hosts one of the largest freelance workforces globally, with Pakistani doctors serving in the U.S. playing a crucial role in healthcare and humanitarian services worldwide.

The Prime Minister emphasized regional peace, crediting former President Donald Trump for facilitating a ceasefire between Pakistan and India through timely intervention. He described Trump as a “Man of Peace” and expressed hope for lasting stability in South Asia.

Shehbaz Sharif also noted that Pakistan is currently mediating between the U.S. and Iran, thanking both countries for their confidence in Islamabad’s diplomatic efforts. The ceremony underscored continued engagement and collaboration between the two nations, focusing on areas of cooperation and shared interests as they look towards strengthening their partnership in the future.
