Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a call from French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday. They discussed regional peace, Middle East developments, and the ceasefire between Iran and the US.

Macron congratulated Sharif for Pakistan’s role in the ceasefire and expressed hope for successful peace talks in Islamabad. The prime minister thanked Macron for backing Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and reaffirmed commitment to regional stability.

Both leaders voiced serious concern over ongoing aggression in Lebanon and emphasized the need to end violence, according to a statement from Sharif’s office.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. They both stressed the urgent need for ceasefire respect and implementation to ensure peace in the region.

EU High Representative Kaja Kallas also called Dar on Thursday. Both sides expressed concern over ceasefire violations in Lebanon and reaffirmed EU’s support for Pakistan’s peace efforts, according to a foreign office statement.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office condemned Israeli aggression against Lebanon, resulting in civilian casualties and infrastructure destruction. Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said such actions undermine international peace efforts and violate humanitarian principles.
