PM Shehbaz honors Islamabad mosque attacker, announces Rs10 million in compensation

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – In a somber visit to Imam Bargah Khadija-tul-Kubra, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid heartfelt tributes to the heroism of Aoun Abbas and commended his family for their unwavering courage in the face of adversity.

Following the tragic suicide attack at the mosque that claimed dozens of lives, including numerous innocents, the prime minister offered deep condolences. He addressed the grieving community, emphasizing that despite the terrorist’s malevolent intentions, unity among Muslims remains a cornerstone of national strength.

PM Shehbaz Sharif visited the families of victims and martyrs, extending his sympathies to those affected by this brutal attack. Praising Aoun Abbas’s bravery in attempting to thwart the attacker, he highlighted how such acts of defiance underscore Pakistan’s resilience and its people’s indomitable spirit against oppression.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the nation would not let this act of extreme violence stand unchallenged. “Nothing can justify such brutality,” he said, adding that the government would redouble efforts to bring perpetrators to justice.

The prime minister also announced compensation packages for victims’ families. The family of Aoun Abbas received Rs10 million in recognition of his selfless sacrifice. The families of other martyrs were awarded Rs5 million each.

The visit underscored the national’s commitment to honoring the fallen and supporting their loved ones during such dark times. PM Shehbaz Sharif met with the immediate families, briefed them on police investigations progress, and offered prayers for peace and tranquility in the hearts of the bereaved.
