ISLAMABAD – In-camera briefing sessions have been scheduled for parliamentary leaders, marking a significant moment in Pakistan’s ongoing stance towards developments within the Gulf region. The news comes amid escalating tensions, with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar having already issued Pakistan’s first official response on February 28. Speaking in the Senate, he stressed that domestic narratives should not overshadow diplomatic efforts to resolve conflicts.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to provide an in-depth session at 11:30 am on Wednesday. The ministerial appointment has been made by Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political and Public Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the current situation among all relevant stakeholders.

Rana Sanaullah will meet with parliamentary leaders directly following his tasking from Prime Minister Sharif, ensuring a cohesive and transparent communication strategy is in place. It’s expected that this briefing session will not only address immediate concerns but also serve as a platform for future diplomatic initiatives.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Prime Minister has emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering support for Iran amid recent attacks. Ishaq Dar pointed out that both nations have been active participants in efforts to de-escalate tensions; specifically referencing previous backdoor diplomacy attempts when Iran was attacked six months ago.

Following this most recent incident, Pakistan has continued its diplomatic engagement with the aim of resolving issues through quieter channels and without attracting undue international attention. The country’s commitment to fostering dialogue remains steadfast as it seeks common ground between all parties involved in the ongoing conflicts within the Gulf region.

In total, these efforts underline Pakistan’s proactive stance towards regional stability while also serving to balance domestic expectations against broader geopolitical interests. As such, the upcoming briefing by Prime Minister Sharif is seen not just as a means of informing leaders but also as an opportunity for further engagement and cooperation in mitigating future disputes.
