Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid a somber visit to the Imambargah in Tarlai today, expressing profound grief for those who lost their lives in last week’s terrorist attack. His presence at this holy site was not just a show of sympathy; it marked an opportunity for him to offer immediate assistance and solace.

The Prime Minister visited the Imambargah Khadijatul Kubra, where the recent suicide bombing had occurred, and met with those affected by the tragedy. He addressed the bereaved families, emphasizing that no amount of compensation could fully address their loss of loved ones. In response to a request for support, he announced substantial financial assistance: Rs10 million for Shaheed Oun Abbas, who valiantly resisted the attacker; Rs5 million each for each martyr; and Rs3 million for every severely injured person.

Addressing the families, the Prime Minister articulated the nation’s collective sorrow at losing elders, children, and youth in such an attack. He condemned it as “the worst kind of barbaric act,” underscoring that no words could adequately express his disdain for this heinous crime.

He paid tribute to Shaheed Oun Abbas, commending him for his sacrifice in confronting the attacker. The Prime Minister’s message was clear: Such heroic acts would not be in vain. He also highlighted the efforts of religious leaders and ulema, who had united against extremism and praised their unity as a success.

The Prime Minister took this opportunity to reiterate the resolve of armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and police, praising them for their ongoing operations against terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. He expressed gratitude to the nation for acknowledging these sacrifices.

In addition to his visit to the Imambargah, the Prime Minister also paid a personal visit to Shaheed Oun Abbas’s residence. There, he offered Fateha and shared condolences with the bereaved family. The Federal ministers were present alongside police officials and district administration representatives, all providing updates on the situation.

The Prime Minister’s actions underscored his commitment to addressing terrorism head-on, while also acknowledging those who have made immense sacrifices in this fight. His visit served as a testament not only to his leadership but also to Pakistan’s collective resolve against terror.
