PMD Forecasts Storms and Heavy Rainfall Across Pakistan; Karachi to Receive Heavy Showers

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted the possibility of strong winds and thunderstorms, accompanied by heavy rainfall, starting tomorrow and continuing until July 1.

According to the PMD, Karachi may experience heavy downpours from June 26 to June 28. However, the Chief Meteorologist disagrees with this new advisory, stating that rains in Karachi will start on June 28.

Karachi is currently facing scorching weather, with a predicted maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius today. The humidity level is at 51%, and the minimum temperature recorded this morning was 30.5 degrees.

The PMD has forecasted intermittent heavy rainfall in areas including Karachi, Hyderabad, Matiari, Sanghar, Badin, and other districts, with some regions expected to see intense showers. The heat intensity is predicted to start decreasing from tomorrow.

The weather in Karachi is rapidly changing, and the PMD has issued a new advisory suggesting the onset of rainfall on June 26. Rainfall is also forecasted for other cities in Sindh tomorrow.

In Balochistan, rain, wind, and thundershowers are expected from June 26 to 28 in Lasbella, Khuzdar, Awaran, Jhal Magsi, Kalat, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Zhob, and Barkhan.

In Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, including areas like Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur, rain, wind, and thunderstorms are expected from June 28 to July 1, with occasional gaps.

Islamabad, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, and Mianwali can expect rain or thundershowers starting from June 27.
