In a timely intervention, Lakki Marwat’s police force thwarted an imminent disaster when they successfully disarmed a substantial improvised explosive device (IED) placed along a crucial route. The 20-kilogram device was discovered in the Wanda Ameer area of the district, posing a grave threat to both lives and property.
According to Sadar Police Station Superintendent of Police Ismatullah Niazi, militants were responsible for placing the bomb. They identified it as an active threat along a heavily trafficked street.
Niazi’s team received credible intelligence about the explosive device and swiftly initiated an operation, employing their expertise in counter-terrorism and intelligence gathering under his command. The bomb disposal squad meticulously neutralized the weapon using advanced techniques before any potential detonation could occur.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed highly commended the Lakki Marwat police team, including Niazi, for their quick response and effective strategy in preventing a calamitous event. He emphasized that those who uphold public safety deserve our utmost admiration: “The police officers who dedicate themselves to safeguarding lives and property are true heroes of our nation.”
