Pope Leo Touts Peace Amid Trump Criticism
Aboard the papal flight to Algiers, Pope Leo made headlines with his stance against war. The pontiff, embarking on a 10-day tour of four African countries, emphasized that he will continue speaking out against conflict and advocating for peace.
The pope also expressed concern over the “abuse” of the Christian message, stating it is not meant to be used in ways that some people are employing it. He urged for dialogue among nations to find just solutions to global problems.
Leo, hailing from Chicago, has become a vocal critic of the US-Israeli conflict with Iran and recently denounced the “madness of war” in a peace appeal. In response, President Trump labeled Pope Leo as “terrible on crime” and “weak on foreign policy,” posting on Truth Social.
