
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) gives green signal for federal budget passage after high-level meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with President Asif Ali Zardari to resolve outstanding budget differences. Technical committees will continue consultations on certain points, according to sources.
The meeting included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Law Minister Azam Nazir, Finance Minister Rana Sanaullah, and PPP representatives including Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and others.
Discussions covered national security, economy, budget, Gilgit-Baltistan elections, Azad Kashmir situation, law and order, and other national matters. President Zardari emphasized prioritizing public welfare, provincial rights, and economic stability in the budget.
The postponed budget presentation from June 10 will be announced later in the evening by the finance ministry.
Earlier, PM Shehbaz met Bilawal Bhutto at the PM House to discuss Azad Kashmir’s political and administrative situation. Bilawal briefed the prime minister on public sentiment and realities in the territory, urging resolution through dialogue and parliamentary means.
