Pregnant Commando Killed in Domestic Violence Case in Delhi, Husband Arrested

Delhi Police announced that Kajal Chaudhary, a 27-year-old trained Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) commando who was four months pregnant at the time of her death, died after being allegedly assaulted by her husband during a domestic dispute. The attack involved her receiving severe head injuries and heavy bleeding from being struck with a heavy exercise dumbbell.

Kajal, married to Ankur in 2023, had a one-and-a-half-year-old son together. Her brother, Nikhil, revealed that the couple frequently argued over dowry demands and that Kajal’s mother-in-law and two sisters-in-law had harassed her regarding these disputes. Nikhil reported that his sister was taken a significant amount of money by Ankur from Kajal’s parents.

The Delhi Police described the incident as tragic, stating that an educated husband allegedly killed a disciplined commando who served to protect the nation over dowry-related issues. The police registered a murder case against Ankur and arrested him, currently in judicial custody. He was employed as a clerk at India’s Ministry of Defence.

Kajal Chaudhary joined the Delhi Police in 2022 and through promotions became a commando in the SWAT team.
