
President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the appointment of Justice Dr Syed Muhammad Anwar as the acting chief justice of the Federal Shariat Court. According to official details, Dr Anwar is the senior-most judge at the court and will assume the responsibilities of acting chief justice until further orders are given.
The decision was made on the advice of Prime Minister in accordance with legal and constitutional procedures. This appointment comes after a series of changes within the judiciary system, aimed at ensuring smooth functioning of the Federal Shariat Court.
