President Asif Ali Zardari marked Nowruz as a symbol of spring, renewal, and hope. He sent prayers to Pakistanis and Afghans enduring hardships in conflict-affected regions.
Zardari highlighted that Pakistan’s cultural and religious diversity is a source of national strength. He expressed condolences for those celebrating Nowruz under difficult circumstances.
In war-torn areas, the season of spring brings pain rather than joy, with debris and shadows of blood covering places where Nowruz should bloom. Zardari specifically pointed out that Afghan people are deprived of celebrating the festival.
The president extended goodwill wishes to Afghan citizens observing Nowruz, hoping it would signal an end to darkness, lift clouds of war, and spread peace throughout the region.
