President Asif Ali Zardari has announced that Arshad Nadeem will be honored with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his historic gold medal win at the Paris Olympics. The directive has been communicated to the cabinet division.

On Friday, the National Assembly also passed a resolution unanimously to award Nadeem in recognition of his remarkable javelin throw, which set an Olympic record with a distance of 92.97 meters and ended Pakistan’s 32-year Olympic medal drought.

The resolution commended Nadeem’s achievement and recommended that President Zardari bestow the civil award. The motion received full support in the assembly.

Nadeem’s success has also led to a surge in his social media following, with 460,000 new Instagram followers gained in less than two days.

Upon his return to Pakistan, Senate Deputy Chairman Syedaal Khan Nasar plans to host an honorary dinner for Nadeem. Additionally, Sindh government spokesperson and Sukkur Mayor Barrister Arsalan Islam Sheikh announced that Nadeem will be presented with a gold crown in Sukkur, and a new sports stadium in the city will be named “Arshad Nadeem Stadium” in his honor.
