A large number of protesters gathered to demonstrate against a brutal assault on a Pakistani family by police at Manchester Airport in the United Kingdom. The protestors, both male and female, chanted slogans against Manchester police, demanding action against the officers involved in the attack.
The incident, which went viral through a video, showed British police officers brutally torturing two young British-Pakistani men in front of their family members. In the footage, police officers can be seen repeatedly punching and kicking the young men, despite the mother’s attempts to intervene and stop the violence.
Five police officers involved in the incident have been suspended, and an investigation is underway against a total of seven officers.
In response, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) issued a statement saying officers were called to Terminal 2 at Manchester Airport following reports of an altercation between members of the public. According to GMP, while attempting to arrest one of the suspects from the earlier altercation, three officers were violently assaulted, resulting in a female officer suffering a broken nose. All three officers were taken to the hospital for treatment.
