Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced on Sunday that the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will proceed without spectators. The tournament, set to start on March 26, will feature eight teams and 44 matches across Karachi and Lahore only.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Naqvi said the decision was made after consultations with the government and security agencies. He cited the government’s austerity drive, launched due to fuel crisis caused by US-Israeli war tensions, as the reason for restricting public movement.

Naqvi also announced the cancellation of the PSL opening ceremony and promised refunds for fans who had already purchased tickets. The decision was taken to limit movement, with the final schedule to be released soon. He apologized to fans in Peshawar, where matches were originally scheduled.
