ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Islamabad chapter has proposed a roadmap for the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive and well-coordinated strategy. PTI’s Islamabad Chapter President Aamir Mughal told Dawn that a detailed plan outlining steps towards democratic stability and securing Imran’s release was submitted to Secretary General Salman Akram Raja.
Mughal stressed the importance of accountability within the party, suggesting a transparent review process and inclusion of energetic leadership to restore confidence among supporters. The proposed six-point narrative includes the release of all detainees, supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law, reduction in inflation, elimination of corruption and poor governance, job creation, and improvement in law and order.
Mughal emphasized the need for organized public engagement through peaceful and lawful gatherings across districts to ensure consistent participation and visibility. He also highlighted the importance of mobilizing the youth as a major force for change, encouraging them to participate constructively in democratic processes beyond social media platforms.
A strong media and communication strategy was deemed essential, with calls for engaging social media influencers and responsible journalists to promote the agenda and ensuring accurate information reaches the public. The overseas community was urged to be mobilized to amplify the message globally while providing legal and financial support within the law. PTI’s lawyers’ wing must also be activated to strengthen legal advocacy and uphold constitutional principles through peaceful means.
