PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar Khan was detained during an election campaign in Gilgit-Baltistan over alleged NOC-related issues. The incident occurred at Hunza, where authorities informed him he lacked the required no-objection certificate (NOC) and ordered him to leave Gilgit.
Following the detention, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan condemned it as “pre-poll rigging,” criticizing efforts to restrict party leaders from participating in election campaigns. He emphasized that political leaders should be allowed free movement across the country and warned that limiting political space could harm democracy.
