Punjab CM Maryam extends Ramadan greetings, urges charity for needy

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has extended her greetings to the Muslim community on the advent of Ramadan, emphasizing its significance as a month for blessings, peace, and stability. Speaking from the provincial capital, she encouraged citizens to offer special prayers during Sehri, Iftar, and Tarawih, praying for safety and prosperity across Pakistan.

Maryam Nawaz highlighted that the Quran emphasizes even small acts of goodness are rewarded in Ramadan, an opportune time to seek Allah’s pleasure, mercy, and blessings. She emphasized the spirit of compassion, gratitude, and generosity inherent in this holy month, saying, “We are grateful to Allah for the opportunity to benefit from the blessings of this sacred month.”

She urged citizens to keep their tables open for the needy during Sehri and Iftar, stressing that Ramadan fosters values of empathy. Under her leadership’s initiative known as the Ramadan Guardian Card, 40 lakh families have received Rs10,000 each in support. Efforts are being made to eliminate queues at ration points, with aid delivered directly to those who need it most.

In addition, Maryam Nawaz organized over 300 tables for Sehri and Iftar across 147 districts, while convenience markets throughout Punjab have transformed into Ramadan bazaars, providing a festive atmosphere. The CM also highlighted the province’s efforts in supporting 40 lakh families through these initiatives.

Maryam Nawaz continued her campaign by stressing that Ramadan is not just a time for worship but also a platform to assist those less fortunate. Encouraging citizens with means to support the needy, she underlined the values of compassion and generosity this month promotes.

As the holy month progresses, Maryam Nawaz’s efforts in Punjab exemplify how community leaders can use their position to foster peace, progress, and prosperity for all residents during Ramadan.
