The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has escalated its ongoing operation against illegal housing societies, targeting violators of regulations, a spokesman announced.
Acting on directives from the Divisional Intelligence Committee, the Authority’s Task Force launched operations against four illegal housing schemes: Capital Valley, New Airport Town, Banni Mehbob, and Gulshan-e-Bahar, located in Mouzas Katrian, Thalian, and Pilo, Rawalpindi. The enforcement squad sealed site offices and demolished main gates, boundary walls, billboards, and other infrastructure of these illegal schemes.
Furthermore, illegal constructions on Plot No. 522, Phase-II, Gulraiz Housing Scheme were also demolished following prior notices issued to the plot owners, Ilyas and Muhammad Jamal.
Under the supervision of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Muhammad Abdul Aamer Khattak, and key officials including the Director General (DG) and Additional DG of RDA, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, and City Police Officer Rawalpindi, the operation was conducted.
The crackdown against illegal housing societies, led by DG RDA Kinza Murtaza, will persist without discrimination, the spokesman affirmed. Citizens were advised against investing in illegal housing schemes and encouraged to visit the RDA website www.rda.gop.pk for guidance.
The operation involved officials from RDA, including Muhammad Usman Bajwa and Mehwish Naseem, alongside representatives from Dhamiyal Police Station and the District Administration.
