Meanwhile, the Election Commission convened a special session to address allegations of electoral malpractice. Commissioner Shahzad Sultan Raja from Sindh and Punjab Election
Commission Member Hasan Mehmood Khan participated remotely in the deliberations. Following discussions on Commissioner Chatha’s allegations, the Election Commission opted to establish a high-level committee to conduct a thorough investigation.
Comprising senior officials of the Election Commission, including the Secretary, Special Secretary, and Additional Law Secretary, the committee is tasked with conducting an impartial inquiry, refraining from public pronouncements, and submitting its findings within three days.
Upon receipt of the committee’s report, the Election Commission will determine the next course of action, which may include legal recourse against Commissioner Chatha.
