Renate Reinsve stops sister from touching DiCaprio at Golden Globes

At this year’s Golden Globes, renowned actress Renate Reinsve, hailing from Norway, managed to keep her sister in check during the evening’s glamorous affair. The sentimental value star chose to bring her plus one, a sibling fresh out of the Norwegian countryside who had never experienced such an event before. Her sister’s impulsive desire to touch Leonardo DiCaprio was promptly thwarted by Renate herself.

“When my sister tried to get close to him,” said Reinsve to an interview with The Times, “he stepped on her dress and smiled at her. She was completely flustered, feeling the urge to touch him so intensely. I had to be quick; I stood between them and gently pulled her back, saying, ‘Please, don’t do it. You’re a star too.’ I managed to keep us both steady.”

The night’s events were filled with laughter as they reveled in their shared experience. “We got extremely drunk,” she gushed, reflecting on the evening. Their bond was strengthened by this golden Globes moment.

Renate had previously been nominated for Best Actress at both the BAFTAs and Golden Globes, though ultimately lost to Hamnet’s Jessie Buckley. She is also up for the Academy Award in the same category.

Reinsve’s nomination history speaks volumes about her talent; it was she who earlier stepped on someone else’s dress at the BAFTAs. This time, it was Mia McKenna-Bruce who found herself needing reassurance from Reinsve.

“I apologize,” Renate said as she passed by the star being interviewed at the red carpet. “I accidentally stepped on your dress. I’m so sorry.”

Mia replied with grace, “It’s okay, you’re right there. There’s plenty of room for everyone.”

Renate added, “You look incredible, Mia.”

This moment underscores Reinsve’s natural good humor and her unwavering ability to connect with people from all walks of life through her presence at such prestigious events.
