Russell Brand, Katy Perry’s ex-husband, criticized her new boyfriend, Justin Trudeau. At a recent Turning Point USA event, Brand called the former Canadian prime minister a “globalist stooge.”

Perry and 50-year-old Brand were married from 2010 to 2012. In 2016, Perry began dating Orlando Bloom; they announced their engagement in 2019, welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, in 2020, and separated in June 2025.

Shortly after breaking up with Bloom, Perry was spotted with Trudeau. They officially confirmed their relationship in December 2025.

Brand made a playful jab at his ex-wife’s mother, Mary Perry, saying, “Look, Katy Perry, I was married to her. I love her still and am glad she has her mom here to hear me say this.” However, he added, “But look. I was okay with Orlando Bloom but Justin Trudeau? C’mon, man! Don’t put me in a category with that guy! That globalist stooge,” he noted.
