Sarah Ferguson criticized for monetizing royal status

Sarah Ferguson, once a fixture in high society circles as the Duchess of York, finds herself at odds within the royal family hierarchy. Her path to financial solvency post-divorce from Prince Andrew in 1996 has led some within the inner circle to question her methods. Former newspaper editor Simon Kelner revealed during an intimate dinner conversation that Ferguson seems to have viewed her royal status as a ticket to wealth, rather than a position of duty or service.

Writing for The Independent, Kelner notes: “She appeared content with merely being herself and this stems from the core issue within the House of Windsor. It highlights how Andrew and Ferguson engaged in efforts to monetize their royal status while maintaining it largely unchallenged.”

Insiders have since revealed that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, is seeking a meeting with Prince William to present her perspective. She believes she can leverage her relationship with Diana and the bond she formed with William following Diana’s passing.

However, any hope for reconciliation appears futile given the revelations unearthed in the Epstein files. A source insists: “She’s delusional if she thinks there’s any chance of being welcomed back into the royal fold.” According to this insider, Prince William has made it abundantly clear that Sarah Ferguson is no longer welcome—persona non grata. William believes her actions have tainted the reputation of the monarchy, and he intends to maintain his stance firmly.

Kelner’s article underscores a growing divide within the royal family, where questions over personal gain are pitted against traditional notions of duty and service to the monarchy. Ferguson’s case stands as a stark reminder that even those with royal lineage do not escape scrutiny or the judgment of their peers when it comes to how they choose to use their privileges.
